About Us
A Community of Believers
Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church is a group of Christians who believe that Jesus is the Son of our Living God. Our worship, our preaching, and teaching is the Holy Bible in its entirety.
We seek to create an atmosphere of worship and community among our members and our guests. We also strive to help you grow by sharing the Word of God with you through preaching and teaching.
We are affiliated with and adhere to the rules and regulations of the Middle District Missionary Baptist Association, The General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Incorporated, and the National Baptist Convention. At Macedonia, God has blessed us with not only a Spiritual Leader but also a visionary in Reverend Dr. Terry L. Henry.
Our Pastor,
Rev. Dr. Terry L. Henry
I have been privileged to serve as the Senior Pastor of Macedonia Missionary Baptist since October of 1988. On behalf of our First Lady, Minister Jacquline B. Henry, our family, our ministers and deacons, our staff, our ministry leaders, and our entire church family, we are extremely excited about your connection to Macedonia. Whether you are connected via the Internet, through Sunday morning worship, YouTube, a Bible study participant, or a recipient of some service offered through one of our ministries, we appreciate and welcome you to our fellowship of believers.
Our mission statement, as posted, is to create an atmosphere of worship and community among our members and our guests. We also strive to help you by grow by sharing the Word of God with you through preaching and teaching. This is our objective and we aim to do just that!
My personal goal is to serve as a servant leader. I adopted Robert Greenleaf’s theory some years ago and I believe, as Jesus said in the Scriptures, those who seek to lead must become servants. Jesus was a servant leader. Greenleaf said, “The servant-leader shares power, puts the needs of others first and helps people develop and perform as highly as possible.” I strive to do the same. This is my personal mantra as I seek to advance the kingdom through my assignment at Macedonia.
I want to see our members grow! Macedonia is part of the Wilmington community so my assignment surpasses the walls of our church and spills over into our community as well. Therefore, I feel responsible for what affects our community as well as our state and the world. I cherish the fact that my kingdom assignment is to provide spiritual nourishment to our church family through preaching and teaching. I am also honored to dually serve the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary in Paynesville City, Liberia. The LBTS is one of the leading schools in the country. God has blessed me to serve as servant leader there as well since my installation as the seventh President in March of 2017. I hope you can see my passion for preaching and teaching exudes from my very being!
Thank you for stopping by our webpage. I invite you to join us in worship, Bible study. Just stop by to see us or join us online! I can assure you it will be an exhilarating and unique experience! You will not leave the same.

Our Core Values

We value the Lordship of Jesus Christ!
We acknowledge Jesus Christ as the head of our church and fully submit ourselves to His will. In every aspect of our ministry our goal is always to honor and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.
We value Bible-centered Preaching and Teaching!
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for Christians. Therefore, we submit ourselves to its teaching, commit ourselves to do what it says, and yield our lives to become what Christ desires for us to be.
We value Prayer!
We believe in the power of prayer. Therefore, the ministries and activities our church will be characterized by a reliance on personal and corporate prayer in all areas of our lives and ministry.
We value Evangelism and World Missions!
We believe in the Great Commission commanded to us by Jesus Christ and we are committed to reaching unsaved and unchurched people locally, nationally and worldwide. We will use every available Christ-honoring means to pursue, win and disciple the people in our sphere of influence.
We value the Family!
We believe God ordained the family to glorify him. We are committed to cultivate an atmosphere which promotes spiritual growth within the family by reaching families with the gospel, discipling them in Christ-like character and teaching each family member how to fulfill their God-given role.
